How it started
Untouched Safaris was born from a shared dream. A team of safari lovers, drawn together by a deep and lasting love for Africa — especially Botswana and the untouched beauty of Southern Africa — came together with a simple mission: to create a different kind of safari.
In 2018, that dream began to take shape with the planning and building of our very first lodge: O Bona Moremi, nestled near the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve in Khwai.
We didn’t want luxury for its own sake. We wanted comfort that felt real. Spaces that honour the land. A place where travellers could slow down, connect deeply, and feel the magic of wild Africa without filters.
A camp that moves with the wild
Not long after the lodge opened, we returned to the roots of safari: simple canvas, a fire under the stars, and the freedom to follow the seasons. That’s when the Untouched Mobile Camp was born — a lightweight camp that moves with the rhythm of the bush.
Set up in remote corners of Botswana, the mobile camp offers rare access to wild, unfenced areas — from the game-rich Khwai floodplains to hidden pockets of Savuti and the Okavango.
What we love most is the simplicity: lantern light, fresh meals by the fire, and quiet nights where the only sound is the whoop of a hyena or the rustle of elephants nearby. It’s a safari experience that strips away distraction and brings you closer — to nature, to your guides, and to the land itself.
A safari that floats: Untouched Houseboat
In 2020, we set off on a new kind of journey — this time, on water. The Ngwesi, launched on the Okavango, opened up a slower, dreamlike side of safari. Here, your game drive is a river cruise. Your sunsets are mirrored on the water. And wildlife comes to you — elephants drinking at the banks, buffalo moving through the reeds, birds in quiet flight overhead.
In 2024, we lovingly renovated the houseboat, refining every detail to offer even more comfort, character, and connection to the wild.
The houseboat offers all the soul of a traditional safari, with a peaceful, floating twist. Comfortable cabins, home-cooked meals on deck, and uninterrupted views of river and sky. It’s perfect for couples and small groups wanting something unique — a place to disconnect from the noise, and reconnect with nature.
A New Chapter in the Delta: Okavango Endeavour
In 2026, a new journey sets sail — deeper into the wild, slower in pace, and richer in stillness. Okavango Endeavour is the next chapter in our houseboat story, designed for those who crave space, silence, and soulful safari moments on the water.
Like her sister Ngwesi, she drifts through the quiet channels of the Delta, where sunsets melt into the river and wildlife appears as if summoned by the breeze. But Endeavour offers a little more — more room to breathe, more time to linger, and more comfort without compromise.
